The quest for my second blog post was to go to a social media website and explore and familiarize myself with it, and of my options I chose Tumblr. After I made my account, the website asked me what I was interested in seeing. Of the options presented to me I chose, Beauty, Anime and food! I know this is a strange combination but let me assure you that I, myself am a strange combination! After the website computes my choices I see images of delicious soups, a woman in a gorgeous dress and Sailor Moon. Sailor Moon is one of my all time favorite Anime! No matter how old I get, I still get the same excited feeling when I see the Sailor Scouts transform to battle evil doers. Not to mention their transformations are absolutely gorgeous.
As I am making my way around the social media site, I am seeing a lot of images and quotes. But this doesn’t seem to function the way that an Instagram or Facebook does. I mean to say, there isn’t a lot of posting followed by comments or conversations. I’m just seeing posts and more posts and a lot of loving of these posts, but not really any conversation. This makes me feel like this site sort of operates like a Pinterest website. Which I have often used to find recipes or funny memes. Apparently you can join group chats on the site but I haven’t figured that out yet! There is much more to explore for me here. I am certainly having fun on this quest and the algorithm surely, has me all figured out, by the one brief preliminary question asked during my sign up process.
